Just posted the first scene of the WIP at the Crusie writer’s workshop site. Frankly, it’s a relief to have it off of my mind. And off the revision-go-round. Was at the point that had I tinkered anymore with it, I’d be messing with what’s good.

Wonder if having posted the first scene, I will now be able to progress in revisions beyond the first act, which is really short, like less than 50 pages. I need to move forward on the revisions. But I also need to finish my Xmas shopping. Dilemma!

In other news, Rusty has learned how to open doors. We made him a nice little nest in a cozy kitty-proof room to we keep him from eating ornament hooks and ripping open presents while we were out of the house and unable to supervise. So one day he just opened the door and came right out. Now he’s got the freedom to roam the house without supervision and so far he hasn’t broken any ornaments, although there are usually one or two on the floor in the morning. Without hooks which have disappeared under mysterious circumstances.

A Year Ago Today: “Tried to think of a dramatic situation…”

In which I tried to find the conflict in my now completely conflict saturated WIP, which was then just a character, an idea, and a lot of backstory.
