38 pages left to revise before I can turn around and revise it all again. Also will add at least one new scene that I avoided last time. It’s a funeral scene, so no wonder with the avoidance.
Yesterday was a heavy duty writing day. Only got 11 pages done, but in those pages I had to pull a couple of unnecessary and it must be said not very well written or even very thought-out threads and insert something else, something I was not at all sure I could do as it was full of pathos and recognition and had to be handled very carefully so as to evoke poignancy instead of vomit. Think I did okay with it, in the end. At least for this draft.
Not exactly sure when I went from thinking this was the last draft to knowing I’d certainly need one more revision before I was really through.
