Started Chapter 3 of the new novel. I’m setting it in Key West, where I spent some time in the early 70s. I went back there a few years ago, and the house I stayed in was still there, although completely gentrified. Gorgeous. Of course the view we had of the ocean in the 70s was completely obscured by tacky tourist traps in the 00s.
Am officially on vacation! From school, not Publishers Weekly. I’m halfway through a book and was hoping to get the review turned in tomorrow, as we leave for Florida early Monday morning and my internet access will be limited. It’s due the day after I get home, but I want it done now so I don’t have to worry about anything.
Instead of writing a new novel, I should be reading and packing and painting my toenails. I’m going to get right on that.
