We’ve been having great weather here in Michigan since school ended, wonderful weather for getting the gardens in shape. Now that Al is (still) laid off, he’s been helping me with the mulch and the heavy weeding and transplanting. I’m getting done in record time. After a final stint today, everything will be in: annuals, vegetables, perrenials plumped up, leaves from the winter raked away, weeds yanked. It’s already looking lovely.
Wish I could say the same about the WIP. As I promised myself, I’ve been writing at least three pages every day. I am now at the point where I know something pivitol has to happen. I know who has to be there. I know the outcome of it all. I just don’t have the specific event or series of event that sets off the time-bomb that leads to the climax of my story. I’ve planted the seeds, but they are still germinating underground.
Maybe this is the delight of collaboration, for books and gardens. Things get done in a quicker and more orderly fashion with two. Oh! I know. I can ask my critique partner Beth for ideas!
