Smoothly With Ease

A result of the revision letter, which is such a blessing but also in some ways depressing, I’m reading Happiness is an Inside Job by the American Buddhist teacher, Sylvia Boorstein. I love her metta prayer and am trying to memorize it so that I can say it whenever my mind goes someplace dark. Since we’ve got the lunar eclipse coming tomorrow, with all kinds of planets in hard angles, I’m glad to be prepared for anything. In case you need it, here’s the prayer:

May I feel safe and content. May I feel protected and pleased. May my physical body support me with strength. May my life unfold smoothly with ease.

I see the irony of needing to create conflict in my fiction and wanting to keep it away in life. I wonder if there’s a way to insert conflict into my stories smoothly with ease?

Well Christmas is coming up… it’s often a time of conflict for families. lol. Perhaps you’ll have something to write about. [I’m terrible, I know.]

You are so right, John. My family has enough conflict for a shelf of books;-)

And Sharon, I am sending the metta outward, to my family and friends, so maybe there won’t be as much conflict after all…
