Still following a decision I made a year or so ago: instead of a newsletter, I am going to treat the blog as a newsletter. I have a big list of people who get my blog posts in their mail so I thought it would work.
I know of at least four people who keep up with those blog emails, so I’m doing swell 🙂
So very behind on the website announcing Body on the Bayou. I am going to learn how to work that new website one day soon. I hear it’s super easy. Maybe my tween grandsons will give me a hand when they visit. Or perhaps I will dive in myself. I still like learning new things. Except it takes a lot longer and you never know when I’ll forgett a key piece of the lesson.
Had a few family hiccups that made me cancel some of my first book appearances: after a month in hospital and weeks in rehab Mom is now in a senior living facility. It looks just like her townhouse except she doesn’t have to cook, do laundry, or use the stairs. While she was in rehab, my brother moved her and she was fine with it. All of her favorite things are there and she has a good friend two doors down. On Halloween she helped pass out candy to the kids in the main meeting room.
Al took my dad golfing for the first time since his hip operation. We were (I was) worried it would be too much for him but Dad came home to his condo tired but happy. He said the hardest thing to do was bend down and put the ball on the tee. “But I got better at it!” he said. By the glow on his smiling face, I’d say he’s doing great for 87 years old.
Now that both my parents are in good places, I can relax and plan some bookstore or online stuff to promote my book. OTOH this is not a prime time of year for that kind of thing. Bookstores are busy. But I will do some internet things. After my son, daughter-in-law and grandkids visit in ten days. I am making an early Thanksgiving dinner for them.
Family first always.
